How do you charge for your services?
Our services are typically billed on an hourly basis, with fees varying based on the project’s specifics.
Our four main pricing categories are as follows:
1. For Civil Engineering firms: Civil projects fully reviewed and sealed by your firm's P.E. (and P.L.A. if applicable).
In this case, projects can be located in North Carolina or anywhere in the U.S.
We will match your CAD standards ensuring your projects look identical to those drafted by your team.
(Example set (DWG & PDF) & CTB (plot style) file needed)
2. For Land Development firms or parcel owners: Civil projects in North Carolina sealed by CADMYN, PLLC and drafted with our own CAD standards.
3. For Surveying firms: Drafting any surveying project. (These projects are reviewed and sealed by your firm's P.L.S.)
4. For Civil Engineering / Surveying firms: CAD training / CAD standards
We will provide you with a clear estimate of the number of hours needed to complete each task of your project with the applicable hourly rate and expected turnaround time.
Our goal is to keep our fees affordable so that civil or surveying firms can also make a profit from our services while ensuring the total expenses align with the industry rates.
With nearly 20 years of experience using Autodesk Civil 3D®, we are excited to demonstrate our efficiency and showcase the quality of our work.
For specific drafting tasks, please email us the project’s scope, location, and any available documentation (such as surveys, developer’s requirements, timeframe, etc.). We’ll provide you with a free quote within one to two business days.
Additionally, we’d be delighted to meet and discuss a potential long-term business partnership between our firms should you need assistance with several projects.
We're on a tight deadline. Do you have the bandwidth to take on new projects at this time?
Certainly, you’ve come to the right place!
With our 15+ years of experience in the industry, we have no doubt that can complete projects much faster than our competitors. Simply email us your project’s specific requirements, and we’ll provide you with our quote and turnaround time.
What are the advantages of collaborating with CADMYN?
Many engineering firms occasionally feel overwhelmed when managing an increasingly large number of projects with a limited number of drafters and engineers. Sometimes, project deadlines are extended due to unexpected events like employee sickness or parental leave, leaving firms with not enough staff to keep up with the project timelines. Sometimes, they even have to decline profitable projects because they lack enough qualified CAD drafters available to complete the plan sets within the owner's/developer’s preferred timeframe.
This is the problem that inspired the creation of CADMYN, PLLC.
Our main goal is to offer you a reliable solution — a professional engineering and drafting resource that you can hire on a contract basis when you are short-staffed or when our combined expertise is beneficial to your clients.
At CADMYN, we strive to ensure that firms can access the expertise and quality they deserve, allowing them to streamline project execution and meet their clients’ expectations with confidence.
Our goal is not only to prevent you from losing any of your clients but also to help you keep your clients happy and devoted to your firm for their long-term needs.
Can you outline your process for communication and collaboration with clients throughout the engagement?
Our clients will be updated regularly on the progress of their projects through reports or emails, either weekly or bi-weekly depending on their individual preferences. This ensures that our clients are always aware of the latest project developments.
Can you provide examples of your drawings?
Absolutely! Just email us!
How would you handle CAD standards?
When working directly with civil/surveying firms, we suggest using your firm's CAD standards.
We will ensure that your projects maintain a consistent style with the ones that your team has learned to produce, as we value your brand’s identity.
When working with non-civil/surveying firms, we'd use CADMYN's.
We also support our clients in creating customized CAD standards, streamlining their teams’ efficiency by eliminating time-consuming repetitive drafting tasks.
Is it necessary to disclose my client’s details?
If you prefer to maintain confidentiality regarding your client’s information, please do so.
Knowing the developer's identity is not required for CADMYN to help you with your projects and deadlines.
We'll be happy to discuss how we can best accommodate your preferences tailored to the specific task you have.
We might be interested in your services but still have questions.
Great! We’ll be happy to meet in-person in the RDU area or virtually via Microsoft Teams (or via a similar platform). We’re looking forward to answer any questions you may have and explore how we can best support you and your project(s).
Just email us at Info@CADMYN.com to set this up.
What is your approach to confidentiality and data security when working with sensitive client information?
Protecting our clients’ project documents from potential internet security threats is our top priority. To achieve this, we work closely with IT firms, ensuring we keep up with the latest security software and practices.
If your project has high confidentiality demands (ex: hospitals, etc.), we would be happy to discuss how we can achieve this with you.
How do you stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to deliver the most relevant and effective solutions?
We are committed to staying updated on the current CAD standards and practices. We regularly attend Autodesk University and other classes to improve our skills to effectively meet our clients’ project deadlines and budgetary needs.
Keeping up with the current trends and learning the most efficient and latest tools was a motivation for creating CADMYN, PLLC.
I'm a parcel owner. I need a new house / garage / shed. Can you make these plans?
(OR "I'm not very familiar with how new construction projects are designed and permitted.")
For single-family houses, sheds or garages (or similar), we recommend you contact a licensed architect in the state your project is located in. They will have software programs like Revit / BIM (or similar) which can be more efficient than Civil 3D to make building plans.
(Autodesk Civil 3D is a fantastic program for the implementation of buildings on new sites. We handle the area surrounding the building, from the building facade to the existing infrastructure in the right-of-way or up to the property lines.)
However, if you need civil engineering plans for any areas around your house or if you're asked to provide stormwater calculations (larger house projects), we'll be happy to help.
(This might be required for project with over 1.00 acre disturbed. Sometimes less depending on the city/county rules.)
For more information about the roles of each design professional on a construction project, visit our "Additional FAQs" page.
Do you also provide drafting services using Bentley System's products (MicroStation or OpenBridge/OpenRoads Designer), Synchro Studio (Trafficware), or Revit/BIM?
Not at this time.
We also have extensive experience with doing full traffic studies using Synchro Studio / Warrants, but do not carry the software at this time. If you require a P.E. to perform numerous Traffic Impact Analyses (TIAs), please inform us, and we will explore how best to meet this need.
Should you need just one TIA, we will be happy to provide recommendations for other civil firms who can produce it based on the project location.
Why is your business called CADMYN and not Micallef Engineering like most engineering firms?
CADMYN = Concept (to) Approval Drafting (by) Micallef Y(=and) Nguyen.
The Micallef and Nguyen families have played a crucial role in bringing this business idea to life. They both deserve recognition for their contributions.
Additionally, unlike standards engineering firms who work directly with parcel owners or land developers, our business model specializes in helping these civil/surveying firms bring their CAD projects to completion, similarly to an ADMINistrative team who works behind the scenes to help the project managers deliver high-quality projects and construction documents.
What can you do with Autodesk Civil3D?
We have been using Autodesk products (AutoCAD & Civil3D) since 2007 and attend Autodesk University every year to stay on top of the latest trends.
We are now able to swiftly generate site development plans by leveraging highly efficient tools. These include stormwater pipe network design, sheetset manager setup, LISP routine creation, grading optimization, and other essential grading features. Additionally, we excel in corridor modeling for linear projects and many other tasks.
We have created the CAD standards at several companies which significantly improved the team's efficiency.
